WordPress Involvement

My passion for the WordPress community began after attending WordCamp Ann Arbor in 2015 and volunteering at WordCamp Northeast Ohio in 2016. I’ve since been involved in organizing our local WordPress Meetup group and was the lead organizer for WordCamp Kent 2018 and 2019.

The NEO WordPress Meetup group has been meeting twice a month since September 2016. We bring together northeast Ohio developers, designers, bloggers, business owners, and site admins looking to learn more about WordPress and website/business best practices. Our Brunswick group usually meets in the evening the first Wednesday of each month.

WordCamps are informal, community-organized events that are put together by WordPress users like you. Everyone from casual users to core developers participate, share ideas, and get to know each other. These conferences are designed to showcase the local community, and WordCamp Kent is no exception. Featuring speakers and sponsors from the northeast Ohio region, WordCamp Kent provides great opportunities for learning and networking.

Cleveland GiveCamp

I am also involved as a volunteer with Cleveland GiveCamp. The Mission of Cleveland GiveCamp is to pair creative and technology talent with nonprofits in need.

GiveCamp is a weekend-long event where software developers, designers, database administrators, project managers and creative professionals donate their time to create software and web-based applications for non-profit organizations.

I am proud to have contributed to the following non-profits:
2019 – The Cutting Board Academy
2018 – Burten, Bell, Carr Development, Inc.

I have the great pleasure of working in an exciting industry that breeds empathy and nurtures cultural understanding. I’ve been working in the travel industry since 2014 at KHM Travel Group, where I now manage our Technology team and lead security initiatives. KHM Travel Group is a host agency serving over 4,000 independent contractor travel agents across the US. Though I work with extremely talented and passionate team members, it is our agents’ continual growth and hard work that makes KHM Travel Group a great place to work.

Some events I’ve attended in the travel industry & takeaways I had:

ASTA Global Convention 2019

PATH Symposium 2019

Travel Leaders Network Conference 2017

Networking for Introverts
