The History of The Web

One of the few blogs that I’m subscribed to and one that I actually open and read the emails from is Jay Hoffmann’s The History of The Web. Hoffmann does a great job of narrating how the web developed into what it is today, covering everything from the history of the img tag to the competing text editing software in 1996. I also recently read the post about Gopher, an alternative way of navigating the Internet, which had a big following in 1994. If you aren’t already subscribed, you should check it out.
